R&O Construction wins two safety awards at Utah Safety Council annual meeting

R&O Construction, which holds an EMR (Experience Modification Rate) of .61, was presented the “Arches Award” and an “Award of Merit” at the Utah Safety Council’s annual meeting on August 21, 2015. The “Arches Award,” given out by the Utah Labor Commission, recognizes companies that demonstrate leadership and exemplary commitment to safety practices.

“We strive to provide an absolute safe, accident-free, healthy work environment,” R&O President Slade Opheikens said. “However, excellent safety and health conditions do not occur by chance. They are a result of diligent work and careful attention to all safety policies by everyone at R&O Construction.”

The “Award of Merit” recognizes outstanding achievements in corporate safety programs. In order to receive the award an organization’s incidence rate must be lower than the national average for the industry, the organization must demonstrate continuous improvement or sustained levels of excellence and it must have essential elements of a safety program in place.

Our employees do a fantastic job of keeping focused on making our work sites as safe as possible,” Opheikens said. “Safety and Health are every bit as important to us as productivity and quality. We will never cease working to make R&O Construction as safe as it can be so that all of our people can go home safely at the end of each day.”
