OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 6, 2016: The R&O Construction-built Utah State University (USU) Brigham City Regional Campus won Utah Construction and Design Magazine’s top prize for higher education buildings at a ceremony held earlier today at the Little America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City.
The coveted award was presented to attendees from R&O and project partner Jacoby Architects.
“When we began working on this project, we immediately understood how important it would be to the people of northern Utah,” R&O President and CEO Slade Opheikens said. “We knew we had to deliver something that would stand as a true community center for that area. Our partnership with USU, the state of Utah and of course Jacoby Architects, made working on it a true pleasure.”
R&O finalized completion of the $12.9 million 50,000 square-foot campus in early 2016.
The design provided by Jacoby Architects included:
- Five medium classrooms that can hold 18 students
- 11 smaller classrooms
- Two teaching studios
- A full-service computer lab
- A multipurpose room that has banquet seating for 250
- An auditorium for 130
- A testing center
USU-Brigham City offers all the coursework necessary to complete four associate degrees, 25 bachelor’s degrees, 13 master’s degrees and one doctoral degree.
