R&O Construction project achieves LEED® Platinum Certification
The Moose Village Housing project built by R&O Construction has achieved LEED® Platinum Certification. Located in the Grand Teton National Park in Moose, Wyoming, the project consists of seven four-plex housing units. Some of the sustainable features of the housing units include:
- Recycled wood finishes
- Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certified lumber for framing and floor finishes
- Homes incorporate modular construction, which has nearly zero waste
- Water efficient fixtures and systems
- Superinsulated walls and roofs for more efficient heating
- Native landscaping and reduced irrigation demands
- Energy recovery ventilation systems
The project was funded after a 1998 Housing Needs Assessment showed that the National Park Service needed more affordable housing units to recruit and maintain staff.
R&O Construction has constructed several LEED® Certified projects, and this is the second Platinum Certified project they have built.
